Our infrared sauna’s use near, mid, and far-infrared waves which gently heat the body from within and allow you to sweat on “purpose”.  These waves are able to penetrate the skin, muscles, joints, and tissues to improve blood circulation and oxygen flow to provide pain relief, restoration and recovery.  The waves also aid in detoxification of the body by removing impurities at the cellular level where the body stores waste and harmful toxins.  Research shows that the sweat from traditional sauna’s is 95% water whereas the sweat from infrared saunas is 80-85% water and 15-20% was comprised of heavy metals, sulfuric acid, sodium, ammonia, uric acid and fat-soluble toxins.

Before Your Sauna Session

It is important to be properly hydrated during everyday life and now you will be using an infrared sauna.

 

Hydrate with at least 8 ounces of water and it is preferred to wait at least an hour after eating a meal before your sauna session. 

 

What to wear? 

Lightweight breathable shorts and tee shirts are ok, swimsuits are better. We ask that if you wear your birthday suit, please wrap yourself in one of our towels. Be sure to bring loose fit, breathable clothes to put on after your session for you will continue to sweat until your body naturally cools down.

 

 

Our mPulse Smart Sauna allows you to choose from six pre-set sauna sessions that each deliver specific blends of red light/near, mid, and far infrared for individual health benefits that include Cardio, Detox, Weight Loss, Relaxation, Pain Relief or Anti-Aging. Think ahead of which preset you would like before you arrive so you can enjoy your full sauna experience.

During Your Sauna Session

  • Please arrive 5 minutes early to get checked in and hydrate with our filtered water system.
  • Your infrared sauna experience includes a private room so you can fully relax and enjoy your session. We offer three-person saunas, so you can spread out yourself or bring a friend!
  • It is recommended not to bring your phone and earbuds into the sauna because they will get hot. Our saunas are equipped with Blaupunkt Bluetooth speakers, so you can listen to your favorite music, books, or podcasts—or just unplug completely and sit in silence.
  • It takes 10-20 minutes to break a sweat in your first session. Our saunas heat your body directly, passively raising your core temperature by 2-3 degrees rather than simply heating your skin with hot air.  
  • Listen to your body and adjust based on what it tells you. Just like exercise, you might not be ready for it full-time. Feel free to leave the sauna and cool off for a few minutes, grab some water, or discontinue early.
  • Dr. Waldo will also offer some light, gentle mobility exercises you can perform.
  • The in-sauna session will last 30 minutes. 

 

After Your Sauna Session

  • Don’t rush the cooling-off process! Enjoy every minute of it, just like you did the sauna. The cool-down process is actually where your body burns the most calories because it’s working hard to regulate its temperature. You will have 10 minutes in your private suite to towel off and begin cooling off.
  • Remember to bring loose, breathable clothes during this cooling-down process. 
  • Rehydrate with 8-24 oz of water from our filtered water station. Please bring your electrolytes or choose from our LMNT electrolyte mixes for $2.00 to add to your water.

 

Things to consider

  • Pair your sauna session with an adjustment and or massage.
  • You can use your sauna session to recover from your workout or activity or even as a warm-up.
  • Results are cumulative, just like working out or dieting. This means the more you come in, the better you will feel, and it may take a few sessions before you feel the benefits—even during the summer months!
  • Don’t have time to make saunas a regular part of your monthly well-being? Using them in the short term will still help you to relax, reset and recover.
